This celebration\, observed in many Latin American countries\, commemorates the visit of the Three Wise Men to the infant Jesus and marks the end of the Christmas season. This is the first time an official celebration of this significance for the Spanish-speaking community has occurred and is being hosted in partnership with the Mexican Consulate. \nFestivities will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday\, Jan. 6 at the Clark County Government Center located at 500 S. Grand Central Pkwy.\, featuring an array of activities for families that will include music\, and a special appearance by the Three Wise Men themselves with surprises for the little ones. \nThe centerpiece of the celebration will be the unveiling of a colossal Rosca de Reyes (King’s Cake)\, a sweet and symbolic bread shaped in an oval to represent the unity of the community. The giant pastry\, adorned with colorful candied fruits and sugar\, will be sliced and shared among attendees\, following the cherished tradition of finding hidden figurines (muñequitos) within the bread. \nIn addition to the Dia de Reyes celebration\, the event will feature a Resource Fair\, where various community partners and organizations will come together offering a diverse range of services. Attendees will have an opportunity to connect with health education resources\, educational opportunities\, information about local food assistance programs and so much more. \n“Dia de Reyes promises to be a memorable experience for all\, fostering a sense of community and celebrating the diversity that makes our county vibrant\,” said Clark County Commission Chairman Tick Segerblom. “This Dia de Reyes celebration is not only a time to revel in our cultural traditions but also an opportunity to connect with vital resources within our community.” \nClark County Commission Chairman Tick Segerblom and Clark County Commission Vice Chairman William McCurdy II will be in attendance to join in on the joyful festivities as we welcome the new year with a splash of Hispanic traditions. \nFamilies and children will have the unique opportunity to interact with representatives from the Las Vegas Raiders\, the Vegas Golden Knights\, and the Las Vegas Super Bowl LVIII Host Committee.
